Winter Woolies

Safe T Sleep has winter covered for our sleeping babies...
It's officially winter 2009, Mothers' day has come and gone, and it's time to settle in with our special, snug, soft and safe baby 'stuff'. With this edition we hope we have winter covered for baby and you.

There are so many products for winter on the market, sleeping bags, duvets, blankets etc it can be difficult to choose.

Many of our readers choose to use sleeping bags together with the Sleepwrap especially for' Houdini-type, Olympic protege babies. For more information go to our FAQ's (Frequently asked Questions) http://www.safetsleep.com/faqs-answer-12/

Many people use the combination of a sleeping bag or swaddling, together with a Safe T Sleep Sleepwrap, in order to keep babies from newborn to three years old even safer and cosier. So many mums have let us know that it is this combination that provides snug, secure sleep for their wriggly babies and therefore their own peace of mind.

You may think that with all these layers that babies may get pretty hot.

It is importantly therefore to chose products and fabrics wisely. Traditionally the most breathable fabrics are made from natural fibres like cotton and wool.

Fabric breathability is universally measured in 'Tog's. The less the 'Tog rating' the more breathable and cooler the fabric. The Safe T Sleep Sleepwrap is made from 100% top quality cotton and is highly breathable, measuring just over 'one Tog' in total when wrapped around a baby's chest.

Therefore, the Sleepwrap is very suitable for newborn babies and toddlers through to approximately two to three years of age. Importantly, it is also suitable in very hot climates.

It is particularly important to check the 'Tog' rating of any baby products especially ones that your baby is going to be sleeping in, like swaddling wraps, blankets, pyjamas, nightgowns and sleeping bags.
